Gmail access appears to be blocked in China

Chinese internet usersEasy access to Google's email service Gmail is now blocked in China, according to reports.
Using Gmail directly via Google's site has been impossible in the country for some time, but locals had still been able to use third-party apps, such as Microsoft Outlook, to use the service.
However, Google's own data indicates such traffic took a nosedive on Friday and has not recovered since.
The US firm said there were no known issues with its provision of Gmail.
"There's nothing technically wrong on our end," Taj Meadows, a spokesman for Google Asia Pacific, told news agency Associated Press.
The digital rights campaign group, GreatFire.org, was one of the first organisations to flag the fact that internet protocol addresses used to let software access Gmail had become inaccessible in China.
"Those protocols are used in the default email app on iPhone, Microsoft Outlook on PC and many more email clients," it said.
"Chinese users now have no way of accessing Gmail behind the GFW [great firewall]."
Google's data suggests there is still, however, a low level of Gmail use in China.
The Chinese government has neither confirmed nor denied that it was behind fresh restrictions.
"The past two years have seen a consistent tightening of all kinds of censorship on the internet and media," said Jeremy Goldkorn, founder of Beijing-based media tracker Danwei.
"There is an increasingly aggressive attitude towards what they [Beijing] call 'internet sovereignty' and they are confident about talking about internet censorship in positive terms."

Earn Money Online By URL Shortening Complete Guide with Urdu

make-money-by-shortening-urlHello World! Today the topic is How we Earn Money with no Extra Efforts?
We have thousands of opportunities for online earning so which should we choose method that is suitable for us? For answering this question Now I am going to tell you how we can make suitable Money Online With adf.ly with no hard efforts. Watch Video Below for Practical Guidance.

Adf.ly Introduction
Adf.ly is the global most popular and trusted URL shortening Service Company. It offers you to shrink your long URL and make money out of them. It’s almost same as Google, tinyurl.com bitly.com, but difference is you can earn money with Adf.ly but not with the others. You can earn a fix amount of money (depends on the clicker’s and your location) when someone visits your adf.ly link. You just Register on Adf.ly then shorten the URL and paste everywhere you want, (like Facebook, Twitter, Google plus etc.)
How to Make Money Online by Shortening URL?

STEP 1.
short-url-with-adf.ly

First you’ve to Sign Up for a free Adf.ly account. CLICK HERE to Sign Up

shrink-your-url

paste-adf.ly-link-anywhere

STEP 2.

Then there is a Shorten a link box. Shrink your link that you want. After this, place your long URL in the blank text box and click on Shrink! After you click on that button, your long URL will be changed into a short URL.

STEP 3.
Now use this Shortened URL wherever you want.
earn-money-urdu/hindi-tutorial

How it works?

When someone visits your shortened URL, he/she will first be watching 5 seconds advertisement and after it a SKIP AD option appears. SKIP AD Button redirects him/her to the main page whose URL you’ve shortened. In this way the visitor wait for 5 seconds which is not a huge lag of time but will surely give you money in your account. The amount you’ll earn is very less about $0.005 but just think if your one shortened link can give you $0.005 dollars then what if your that shortened link is visited by 1000 Times then you’ll make $5 without any Hard work. You just shrinked a URL and you earned $5 which is a good amount if you earned it without any efforts. Now this was only a single URL. You can shrink multiple URL’s and distribute them via social media or website or blog. The complete tutorial is given below.
If you’ve a Blog or Website then you can optimize all your links because if a needy person is visiting your website then he/she can wait for 5 seconds because it’s not a big time at all.
Formula to Make Money By URL Shortening:

1. Make Money with Social Networks using Adf.ly

Adf.ly links are not banned on any Social Networks until you start spamming people with your shortened links. So here that is the strategy. You can directly Tweet your adf.ly links on Twitter. If your Twitter Account is attached with Facebook then the same tweet will automatically be shared on your Facebook account timeline.
Suppose one thing, If you’ve minimum of 100 followers on Twitter and almost 100 friends on Facebook then it means your Adf.ly link will be shared with 200 people out there. Also if someone shares your links on Facebook or Retweet on Twitter then it’s a win-win situation. Analyze the best time of posting when most of the people are online on social Network.

Don’t post bare links on your social media, Include some text related to the URL. Like if your shortened link is about make money online then you can write it in your post like “Make Money Online Fastly. Just follow the given link to knowing about yourself.
In this way you can get focus of your Social Media Friends. Share your best links with your friends with whom you often talk. If they like your links then you will get Facebook Shares or Retweets on Twitter easily.

If you don’t have a Twitter account then create one. Start following others. In this way you’ll get follow back from many of them. You can create more than one account. But follow the people related to the same niche as yours. Suppose you want to Share links about “Hit Songs”, then follow those people who have same interest as yours. For searching the people related to your niche, just write your niche in the Twitter, Facebook or any other social network’s search bar and you’ll find thousands of people with same interest. For mass following you need a free account in tweepi tool bar at a single click you can follow 20 people. In this way, you can follow more than 10,000 people not in a single or two days but within weeks wait for the people to follow you back. Meanwhile start posting your shrinked URLs there.
Choose some hit songs, viral videos link from YouTube or from any other popular site. Shrink their links and start posting them on your social networks.
2. Make Money from Website or Blog using Adf.ly

This method is the most successful of all but little time-consuming. You can monetize all your site’s pages and links by Adf.ly
If any person visits your site then it’s obvious that you will get more than 10 visits on your shortened links by the visitor but the deal is you should have quality content. I am telling this time-consuming because it could take a little bit to set up your blog or website then you’ve to increase its contents or posts which can’t be achieved in a single day. But if you already have a website or blog with good traffic and contents then you are also ready to make money fastly. Just start monetizing all your pages or posts and links with adf.ly.

Xbox and PlayStation tackle cyber attacks

A PlayStation 4 controllerMicrosoft and Sony have been working to restore internet platforms for their Xbox and PlayStation games consoles.
Attacks disabled the online services on Christmas Day, making it difficult for users to log on.
The Xbox Live status page suggested on Saturday that Microsoft services had been restored. PlayStation said some services were being restored and thanked users for their patience.
A hacking group called Lizard Squad claimed to have caused the
problems.
The name is the same used by a group of hackers that has targeted Sony in the past.
Microsoft's Xbox Live has 48 million subscribers and Sony's PlayStation s
ystem has more than double that number, at about 110 users.
In a tweet posted on Saturday morning, PlayStation said: "Update: PS4, PS3, and Vita network services are gradually coming back online - thanks for your patience."
'Member Two' Sony PlayStation users in Paris, 29 October 2014A hacker claiming to be from Lizard Squad - a 22-year-old calling himself Member Two - said it had hacked the sites "because we can".
He also suggested the motive was to demonstrate weaknesses in the two companies systems.
"It's just such a huge company Microsoft... Do you not think they should be able to prevent such an attack?" he told BBC Radio Five Live.
"Is Christmas really about children playing with their new consoles, or playing with their new toys, or is it about them spending time with their families and celebrating Christmas?" he added. "I think everyone's just taking it all out of the ordinary."

To make the most of the Xbox and PlayStation consoles players have to connect to the internet in order to reach the console manufacturers' servers.
The outage stopped people accessing some core services, such as registering a new account, connecting with other people to play the same game and connecting to entertainment channels via the console.
Earlier this month a different branch of Sony - Sony Pictures Entertainment - was hit by a cyber attack that stole huge amounts of data from its servers.
The fallout from that hack soon focussed on The Interview, a film featuring a fictional plot to assassinate North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un.
No link between Sony Pictures hack and the gaming service disruptions has been confirmed.
However, the latest disruption did mean that many families were unable to enjoy their new Christmas presents.
In the UK, Ros Bruce, from Essex, said her 10-year-old son got an Xbox One for Christmas, had spent most of the day in tears, and called for Xbox to provide compensation.
Ian Hornby, from Lancashire, spent a frustrating time trying to connect a new PlayStation to the Sony network, and said he hoped that the electronics giant would now invest in better protection for its systems.

Step 19: Congratulations!

Now you know how to use Blogger.com to make yourself a personal or professional blog, and how to style the blog to your liking

How to make a Blog?

A blog or web log is a personal web site made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically. The content and purposes of blogs varies greatly from links and commentary about other web sites to observations about news or politics, diaries, photos, poetry, essays, project updates, even fiction. Blogs are a fast growing segment of the web. An article in the August 26, 2002 Newsweek estimated the number of blogs at 500,000 with a new one coming online every forty seconds.

Assumptions:

We will make the following assumptions about users who plan to follow these instructions:
  • You have a personal computer with a connection to the Internet.
  • You have a personal email account.
  • You have a moderate amount of experience using the World Wide Web.

It is not necessary to know html to maintain a blog, but it is helpful if you want to customize it.

We will use the free web-based publishing Blogger and the free blog hosting service Blogspot.

Instructions:

1.) Go to the web site www.blogger.com. On the right hand side of the page, about half way down you will see a blue box that says, “Sign Up,” (see Figure 1). In the corresponding blanks, enter a username and password for yourself. Confirm your password.

NOTE: Remember your username and password. Write them down if necessary.

2.) In the next screen enter your first and last name and your email address. Then click the link to read the Terms of Service, and click the checkbox indicating that you have. After entering this information, you will return to the Blogger.com home page as a logged in user.

3.) On the right hand side of the home page you will see a blue box that says, “Your Blogs,” (See Figure 2). To start your blog, click where it says “Create a new blog” in the blue box. After your blog has been created, you will return here to update it.

4.) You are now at a screen that prompts you to enter a title and brief description of your blog, (See Figure 3). Also it will ask you if you want this to be a public blog. Enter your title, enter your description, choose public or not, click next. A “public blog” will be listed in the Blogger directory and might appear on the recently updated list on the blogger.com home page. If you choose no, your “Private Blog” will still be viewable to anyone on the internet.

5.) You are now given the option of hosting your blog at Blogspot or using Blogger to update a website hosted elsewhere, (See Figure 4). Make sure that “Host it at Blogspot.” Is selected and click next.

6.) Now you will choose an address for your blog and agree to the Blogspot terms of service, (See Figure 5). It would be a good idea to use the same address as the title you chose in step (4.)

NOTE: The address for your blog will follow the form:
http://whateveryouchoose.blogspot.com/
Remember this address. Write it down if necessary.

The address for this set of instructions is http://bloginstructions.blogspot.com/ Enter the address you would like to use in the appropriate blank, click the checkbox next to “I accept the Blogspot terms of service” and click next.

7.) This screen offers you a selection of eight templates for your blog. (See Figure 6). The template determines what your website will look like. Select one of the templates and click “Finished.” Select one of these eight right now, but you can change at any time to one of the many other templates available or even create a custom one of your own.

8.) Now you are at the Blogger interface that you will use to update your blog from now on. On this first visit, the following instructions will appear on the bottom half of the screen. I have copied and pasted them here for future reference.
Quick-Start Instructions
Posting: Enter text and/or HTML in the form field above and hit the post button in the upper right. All posts will show up here.

Saving to your server: To transfer the latest version of your blog to your web site, hit the "publish" button on the right of the black bar, above, or the "post & publish" button in the toolbar at the top. (If there are no changes since your last save, the "publish" button will not appear.)

Editing: All posts that you have permission to edit (which is all posts created by you, or, if you're an administrator of a collaborative blog, all posts) will appear with an [edit] link. To get to older posts that are not showing up in this frame, use the filter form on the right. This filter will not effect what appears on your actual blog page.

How to Create Your First Blog?

Most posts are quite short and are written directly and conversationally, but you can make them as long as you want. Every blog takes on a personality and life of its own.
If you’ve used a Web-based e-mail service like Gmail, Hotmail, or MSN, blog software feels very familiar. Creating the post is simply a matter of filling in the appropriate fields in a form, formatting text, and then sending it off to its destination — in this case, to your blog, rather than a friend’s inbox.
1

Go to the Blogger publishing screen.

If you just finished signing up for your blog, click the Start Posting link to start a blog post; the publishing screen appears. If you’re coming back to Blogger, log in. Blogger takes you to the Dashboard — a kind of control panel showing you the blogs you have set up — giving you access to tools like posting, help resources, or even creating another blog. Click the New Post link on the Dashboard to get to the Publishing screen.
2

Enter a title for your post in the Title field.

Titles are a lot like newspaper headlines: catchy and informative so that they encourage visitors to your blog to continue reading.
3

Write your post in the large field.

Consider writing your blog posts in a standard word-processing program, such as Notepad or Microsoft Word, and saving the document. Many bloggers have spent hours composing right in the entry field of their blog software only to find that their Internet connection has failed or another technical problem has occurred, resulting in a lost post.
4

Format your post.

Blogger’s entry field includes icons across the top that let you change the font and font size, apply bold and italics to text, and create common formatting styles like lists. To use these features, select the text in the field that you want to modify by clicking and dragging over the text; then click the appropriate icon or select an option from the desired drop-down list.

How to make a Website?

Step One
Reserve Your Domain Name (AnySite.com)
Your domain name is like the home of your website. Take your time with this step because the name you choose becomes part of your brand.
Also, try to choose a name that is short enough so you can get matching usernames for Twitter, YouTube and other Social Media accounts. Branding is everything -- don't rush this step!
Check out these domain registration tips and discover how to get a free guide to help you start your website. Also learn how to get a domain name for only $1.99.
Step Two
Select Your Web Hosting Company
The web host is the company that houses your site and provides you with space to create web pages, any scripts you can install (forums, shopping carts, blogging, etc.), email addresses, security and so much more.
Hosting companies can overwhelm you with their features, but the majority of them offer the same services. Always start with the cheapest monthly plan because upgrading later is very easy.

Step Three
Start Building!
How you create your site will depend on the kind you want to make. For example, if you want to create a blog, you can take advantage of the built-in templates that come with the blogging (WordPress) platform.
No coding experience is necessary. All you do is search for the theme you want to use, activate it, make your customizations and your website is ready to go.

Static HTML vs. Dynamic Websites

web design imageThere are basically two kinds of websites you can create.
1) Static HTML (Content is uploaded and displayed "as is")
2) Dynamic (WordPress, Joomla, etc.) Dynamic means information is pulled from a database so you can display your website content by date, category, etc. Think blogs.
Static HTML sites are not that popular these days. In order to create them, you have to learn HTML, use templates or buy some kind of software like Dreamweaver, Artisteer, etc.
In 2004, WordPress revolutionized the way we build websites because there is no software to buy. You simply install the WordPress script from your web host, launch the admin panel, choose a theme design and begin writing your content.
Because WordPress is dynamic, you can add functionality very easily using plugins. These are scripts (many of them are free) that you install to help you do so many things (collect visitor feedback, build surveys, add social media icons, and more.)
No longer do you have to spend time uploading complicated scripts just to add shopping carts, comments, and all other kinds of functionality to your website.

Using WordPress to Build Your Site

WordPress is Popular
At first, WordPress was best for blog-like websites where content is arranged by date and category.
Now it's just as easy to use WordPress for traditional websites because you can easily change your main menu to point to appropriate content/pages.
What's cool about this platform is you will have access to a variety of templates you can choose from, so building your website is a breeze.
And when you're ready to change designs, just choose another theme and your site will update instantly!
Here's a quick overview of how to get started with WordPress.

How Long Will Website Success Take?

how long does it take to make money?
This is one of the most common questions I receive about the creation and success of a website and it's also the most difficult to answer.
The time it takes will depend completely on YOU and how long it takes you to learn how to market your site. It will vary from person to person for a variety of different reasons.
If you were running an offline store, you would never expect to know how long before you sell 100 donuts right? The same applies to the online world. There is no way to predict how quickly you will get the traffic you need to succeed with your site.

A CLASSIC Website Mistake

define your audience for your website.
Don't fall into the trap of being so focused on the money that your site fails to connect with real people.
1) Will your site solve problems better than the competition?
2) What kind of person will it cater to?
3) Why would someone come to your site instead of an already-established site on the same topic? In other words, what is your unique angle or spin?
For example, if it's a content site, this is the impression you want to leave...
Build a unique site
In other words, you want to create a unique experience that helps people connect with your content in ways the competition doesn't.
If you want to create a successful site, you have to understand the importance of connecting with human beings instead of just building a site with words on a page.
There are enough wikipedia-like websites on the Net today. Aim to be different, fresh and over deliver your content.
